We would be very glad to see you and meet you
VISITING a new church for the FIRST TIME takes COURAGE and we recognize that.
We also recogize that it not only takes courage but it also takes INITIATIVE and we
APPRECIATE THAT! We want you to know that YOU ARE WELCOME to visit us ANY TIME! You are not just among FRIENDS, but you are among
FAMILY.
FAMILY is a wonderful thing. It is where LIFE begins and is where it is NURTURED.
It is where GROWTH takes place. A family provides WARMTH, JOY, COUNSEL and COMPANIONSHIP. Above all else, it gives you ROOTS, a place to belong and a place
to return to for STRENGTH and HOPE . . .
. . .A CHURCH FAMILY ALSO OFFERS THIS!
IF YOU ARE NEW to the community or simply looking for a spiritual home, if you are
lonely or hurting, in need of help or encouragement, let us invite you to get acquainted
with our SALEM Family.
Darrell Ediger became our pastor here at Salem in 1989. Darrell enjoys working
with people of all ages, both in the church setting and in the local community.
He shares a common vision with the congregation for making prayer, scripture
and evangelism central to our lives.
Pastor Darrel grew up in a small community very similar to Kidron and Dalton.
In 1971 he graduated from Bethel College (North Newton, Kansas). Then
he spent three years in Nepal doing volunteer work with Mennonite Central
Committee. After returning home he purchased his father's construction company
which he operated until 1977.
He then went to Canadian Mennonite Bible college in Winnepeg, Manitoba, for 2
years, where he and his wife DeeDee received a call into the pastorate. In 1979
he began his pastorate, at the Goessel Mennonite Church, Goessel, Kansas, where
he served for 10 years just prior to coming to Salem.
Darrell and his wife DeeDee have four children; One girl - Erin, three boys - Nate,
Luke and Ben-(twins), all married with families of their own.
